Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports - PBIS

We are a learning community dedicated to teaching positive school-wide behavior expectations. Our goal is to create a positive school culture and learning environment in which positive behaviors are explicitly taught and reinforced in order to achieve academic and social success for all students.  We teach and expect students to be Ready, Responsible, and Respectful. We are committed to encouraging and strengthening student positive behaviors and responding in a consistent manner to misbehavior.

Growth Mindset

Having a growth mindset is believing that brains and talent are just a starting point and can be developed with hard work and dedication. Conversely, having a fixed mindset is believing that intelligence and talent are fixed traits that we do not have control over. As we set the tone for the school year, teachers and students are having powerful conversations about what it means to have a growth mindset and doing goal-setting activities that will promote a growth mindset throughout the year.

There is an abundance of resources (TED talks, books, research) on the topic of growth mindset. Parents may be interested in the Big Life Journal for Kids.
